Gentiane mg trio

"The three musicians share a deep bond and a poised approach beyond their years, although think the calibre of Michaud-Gagnon’s playing and composing would be a mighty rallying point for the band as a collective." -Peter hum
Montreal pianist and composer Gentiane Michaud-Gagnon, known as Gentiane MG, creates music as a space for connection, curiosity, and emotional clarity. Drawing from jazz, classical tradition, and a deeply personal relationship to nature and memory, her work unfolds as a series of poetic musical scenes. Raised in northern Quebec, where wilderness and solitude shaped her inner world, music became her primary language and spiritual anchor from an early age.
Gentiane holds a master’s degree in jazz performance from McGill University and a diploma from the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec. Leading her acclaimed piano trio, she has toured extensively across Canada and Europe and earned major honours including OPUS Awards, Radio Canada recognition, and JUNO and ADISQ nominations. Her fourth album, Can You Hear the Birds?, marks a luminous new chapter in her artistic journey.
